I bought this book as a supplement text for Multimedia 110 offered at a local community college. This community college is well known for its excellent record for turning out topnotch digital imaging technicians. They have a demanding program and this book has proven to be a godsend often. It was delivered within a reasonable time from Amazon and I plan to continue purchasing from Amazon for many years in the future.

I purchased this book looking for a good beginners guide to editing photos in PSCS4, however this book is just not it. If you want to know EVERYTHING the program does, then perhaps this is the book for you, as it will touch on most everything. But if you are looking for a book to teach you specifically how to edit photos and use tricks of the trade, I would check elsewhere.

I’ve used every version of Photoshop since 3. I would be embarrassed to admit how many PhotoShop books I’ve bought and read. Somehow, I thought I would be beyond a “Dummmies” book but I was wrong. This is a very good book. It is reasonably thorough with just under 700 pages even though it is done in a concise fashion. It is beautifully organized and the writing is clear and crisp. There is excellent use of instructional images and graphics.
I’m very glad I didn’t miss this great book. If you want to get serious about learning PhotoShop CS4, you can’t go wrong here.
