About the Author
Dr. Pawan Vora is the founder and President of Alpha Cube, Inc. and has been involved in designing, reviewing, and evaluating user interfaces for software and web-based applications for over ten years. His experience includes designing Web application interfaces for business-to-consumer, business-to-business, consumer-to-consumer, and business-to-employee environments.

He has successfully applied the design patterns approach outlined in this proposal for designing user interfaces for a variety of companies including BEA, Inflow, IQNavigator, and Roving Planet. Before founding Alpha Cube, Pawan Vora was the Vice President of the Customer Experience group at Seurat Company. He has published extensively and conducted numerous tutorials and workshops in the areas of web site and web application design and usability for both national and international audiences. Also, he has conducted workshops on design patterns for Web applications at Usability Professionals’ Association’s UPA conference and Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s annual meetings.

Pawan’s educational background is in human-computer interaction and Industrial Engineering. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also has bachelor’s degrees in Production Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute in Mumbai, India.
